THE AWA ARGOSY

DEDICATED TO THE AW 650 & AW660 AIRCRAFT
Built by:
Sir W G Armstrong Whitworth Aircraft Ltd
Baginton Coventry Warwickshire England

The objective of this site is to be a comprehensive reference source for all aspects of the history of the AW 650 & 660 Argosy over the years, its builders and operators. The aim is not for the site to be a dry history, but to also include items of human interest from people involved in all aspects of the building and operation of the Argosy. Up to this time I have concentrated on facts and realise that the site could be improved with a lot more pictures. As of July 2003 I have started to add pictures to the site, some of them are not very good but I will improve them as time goes by.
If you have any material that you feel would be of interest, particularly pictures, and that could be included in the site please do not hesitate to contact me.
I would of course cover the cost of obtaining any material and am keen to get copies of Aviation Week dated 13th February and 24th April 1961. A list of published material that I have copies of is included on the Links & References page.

Phil died peacefully on 10 February 2007 after a battle with cancer.
This web site will be maintained as a tribute to him by his nephew and wife.

If you e-mail please include the word Argosy in the subject line as otherwise anti span software may regect your message.
